Short, fun, no bullshit, elopement style ceremonies for couples who want to Get JUST Married®

If you want to imagine what a Vows Now wedding is like, then think of the episode of The Simpsons when Homer and Marge married in a Vegas Style shotgun wedding at Shotgun Pete’s 24 Hour Wedding Chapel (Season 3 Episode 12).
Minister: Do you, Marjorie Bouvier take Homer J. Simpson to be your lawful wedded husband?
Marge: I do.
Minister: Homer, same question, names reversed.
Who are the 3 people you would like to have dinner with [alive or dead] and why?
- My husband Paul because I love hanging around with him.
- My Dad because he died about 2 months after I met Paul and I know they’d get along. It would be awesome for them to meet each other.
- Some muscle bound gorgeous bouncer who would sit quietly and slap Paul’s wrist when he tried to eat from my plate. Paul will never understand that I eat the worst first and save the best ‘til last!
Best thing about weddings:That thing that happens about 47 seconds after a couple are pronounced as married when they look at each other, squeeze hands and mentally say to each other “Shit! We’re married!” and they squeal a teensy bit inside with relief that the anxiety has passed as I watch the colour return to their faces.
Best thing about being a celebrant: Watching the colour return to couple’s faces when they realize that I just did their I do’s.
Toilet roll over or under: Over. I’m not afraid to correct it if you accidentally put it on the wrong way.
Peanut butter, Crunchy or smooth: All of the above
What would you do with a weekend off from weddings: As a result of a few adolescent pregnancies I am in the enviable position of being totally youthful with an empty nest, so I’m completely unencumbered and free!
I love anything that involves being with my husband. We love road trips to nowhere with accompanying mix-tapes. Pizza. Mexican food taking photos. watching boats. going on boats. scouring junk stores for hidden gems of mid century modern furniture. More pizza. From time to time I’ll catch up with my sons but the older they get; the harder it is to convince them of how much fun it is to hang out with your Mum. When I can bribe them, they are handy witnesses for secret elopements.
