What does a celebrant cost?
We get it – you have a budget. This budget has either come to you via one of two ways.
- You’ve had a look at your actual bank account, done a spreadsheet and figured out you can only pay $X for your wedding or;
- You’ve found something online, or in a magazine, that has spelled out how much you should expect to pay for everything.
That’s great and it is kinda helpful but what it hasn’t accounted for is what vendors actually charge in your area or a million and one other factors that may effect the price of services for your wedding. For example, your ceremony is actually 6 hours drive from where their business in based.
Any kind of budget, forum advice or comment online about pricing should always come with a disclaimer of DYOR – Do Your Own Research.
What’s the reputation of that business, do they have amazing reviews? Are they actually going to show up (We’ve had calls before begging us to step in last minute – it does happen!) Cheap doesn’t always mean bad but there is no magic formula for price either. If I had to make a mathematical equation for the cost of a celebrant it would go something like:
(% of annual business costs) + (actual cost of doing the wedding) + (time) + (energy) + (all my awesomeness) + (travel) etc etc. = The Price You Are Quoted.
There is so much more that goes into the cost of a celebrant than just standing out the front for an hour on the day.

There is no one answer. #Soz. Each Sassy Celebrant values their time and skills differently. Plus, we each have a different level of service and inclusions that we provide. What we can tell you is that when you enquire with us you will get a detailed quote outlining what we do, and how you would expect to pay.

Why book a Sassy Celebrant?
.Are you kidding? We’re awesome. But seriously, everything in wedding planning is a balancing act of pitching what you want against what you have to pay to get it. There are cheaper celebrants out there, and there are more expensive ones. That said, give us 5 minutes of your time to tell you about who we are and what we do and if you’re not completely happy we’ll throw in a complete set of steak knives**
If we’re not for you, we’re cool with that. If we’re too expensive for your budget and you’ve decided to go elsewhere. Down with that too. But, if you want our kind of awesome, we just ask that you pay what we’ve quoted you to pay and we’ll do the best damn job we can.
**We won’t actually throw in steak knives.
