So right now the weddings we normally do aren’t a thing. That’s because in NSW it is currently forbidden for a wedding to be more than 5 people – the celebrant, the couple and two witnesses. In non Covid-19 times weddings/marriages are anywhere from the basic 5 to 500 people. There’s a band, drinking, fabulously dressed people, a photographer, more drinking, speeches that make your cry, drinking that leads to bad dancing, tears, hugs love and inevitable hangover.
That’s normal. The reason we are self isolating is so we can get back to normal as quickly as possible.
And when that happens and these people who were supposed to get married during our “local down” and start getting back into planning one thing is going to happen. I am affectionally calling it “The Great Celebrant Shuffle.”
Because, whilst some people have been holding off rescheduling their wedding date, new couples have been getting engaged and booking in with venues for 2021. Enquiries have been coming in to Sassy Celebrants, same as always, and we are all working hard to send our quotes and lock in weddings, some as far as 2022 away.
So where does that leave couples that didn’t reschedule quickly enough and their Sassy Celebrant (or non Sassy Celebrant) is already booked.
