THE SASSY CELEBRANTS FAVOURITE WEDDING MOMENTS

Your celebrant has the best seat in the house when it comes to your wedding. Not only are we front and centre for all the action, but we have an all-access pass, peeking behind the curtain to see all that goes on.So when it comes to the big moment, what are our favourite bits? It may surprise you to know that some of them aren’t even at the ceremony at all.

Often we will duck our heads in to say “Hi!” whilst you are getting ready. This serves two purposes. The first is checking in on you to make sure you are ok and that everything is running on time. The second is to let you know that we are there. Whatever other hiccups may occur, the person who can legally marry you has arrived, and that can help to calm your nerves.

Why we love this moment: It’s the mix of nerves, excitement, anticipation that each couple experience. In most cases, the couple is getting ready in different locations. So, you don’t know how the other is, but we do. We know that all those anxious, nervous feelings you have, are going to disappear the moment you see each other.

We get a kick out of the few moments before the ceremony. Everyone is waiting for the music to start, photographers dart in and out. The wedding party, waiting at the aisle, start to get serious and exchange jokes in the hope of breaking the tension. Shoulders are rubbed and patted, encouraging smiles are exchanged.

Why we love this moment: The sense of anticipation is exhilarating. We know everyone is about to go “aww”. The look on the couple’s faces as they see each other is priceless.

In any ceremony, this is always an emotional moment. When couples speak from the heart to each other, forgetting everything, it’s a beautiful moment.

Why we love this moment: You don’t get to see or hear it, but we are close by with our ipads/kindles or holding the mic. We hear every big deep breath, see the tears glinting in their eyes, and hear the little mumbles as people struggle with their emotions. Take what you experience as a wedding guest and multiply by 1000 for the celebrant.

No, we’re not a bunch of perves, but when a couple go without kissing each other, even for as little as the twenty minutes of the ceremony, you can see on their faces. That is all they want to do.

Why we love this moment: The guests cheer, the photographer is in full action mode and everyone is happy that the deed is done and the party can begin. All the nerves are gone and it’s just about the celebration!

When it all is said and done, we love checking our socials and seeing the photos and videos show up. We love it when our couples care enough to tag, review, and rave about us. Sure, our job is pretty much over at the end of the ceremony, but knowing our couples were happy with how it went makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Why we love this moment: We love knowing that our couples had the greatest day. Sharing their feedback with us helps us learn and deliver unforgettable ceremonies.
